First steps in Merida

Merida is the capital of Yucatán, it's like a laaaarge village. People are wonderful, women wear the typical dresses and men the typical shirts. The area is very safe. More about this later, I promess.
We are hosted by Gina and Ric, and their 2 or 4-legged friends.

The Zoo (Parque Zoológico del Centenario)

Some bad  picture of the Zoo, it's not that big, it's free, a little train goes all around. A must go if you have kids, or not. Lot's of colorful birds, large cats (lions, panthers etc.), the mandatory giraffe and zebras, hippos, a small reptile department, monkeys, etc.
I wish I had a camera with a good manual focus, long zoom, and large aperture, basically the 3 factors you need to avoid this :

The address of the parc is :

Parque Zoológico del Centenario
65, Centro, Merida, Yucatán, Mexico

A busy afternoon in Cholul (12/12/12)

Cholul is a little village next to Merida, about 30 minutes from Col. de Mexico. We stayed in a house for 2 days with nothing to do but enjoy the garden, the house and the swimming pool.

Special Edition (yeah right) beer for The Holidays
Grapefruit, Cytrus paradisi probably.

Vintage
12/12/12 some clouds showed up in late afternoon, no apocalypse though.
And I was thinking to myself, "This could be Heaven or this could be Hell"

Not hell.

Tranquilo !
