UNAM (I)

I went to the UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) and visited a very very small area of it.
It's a wonderful campus, as far as I could see.

Black Jesus

Inside the cathedral. Jesus Christ is black !

Some people pray, some take pictures.

Greece in Mexico city

This city (Mexico) is so large (at least compared to Paris) that is seems that they couldn't find local names for all the streets.

Around where I stay streets are named after USA states : Wisconsin, Indiana, California, Pennsylvania, etc.
A little bit further USA city names are used : Boston, Denver, Detroit, Sacramento, etc.
In another area they used rivers' names : Rio Sena, Rio Po, Rio Rhin, Rio Tigris, etc.

This is a beautiful area where the streets are named after Greek gods (Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hercules (should have been Heracles I guess), Hermes, ...).

Some houses :

And, of course, lot's of wires !

The organ

Inside the cathedral : the organ.

El Zocalo

El Zócalo : This is the large plaza located in the historic center of Mexico city.
The Zócalo is the main square of a Mexican town.

HUGE flag

The cathedral (large, left) and the old church (right).

Not that many tourists
